ECV’s Juniors Summer Volleyball
Dear Directors, Coaches, Parents & Players:
Welcome to the world of juniors outdoor volleyball summer 2020! I will attempt to answer some of your questions in the next few paragraphs. Also, I’m happy to answer any follow-up questions, as I welcome your emails anytime at: Chris.firstname.lastname@example.org. I am the owner of ECV, and our website is (www.eastcoastvolleyball.com).
This year, ECV will offer juniors divisions at every tournament on Fridays. The standard divisions will be 12U, 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, 17U, and 18U for doubles (girls & boys) and quads (girls only) volleyball on Fridays for the foreseeable future. The cost for junior doubles is $50/team, and junior quads is $100/team. Age groups may be combined depending on junior participation. Check-in will begin at 9:30am as play begins at 10am. After which, the juniors tournament will proceed into typically 4team pool play with rally scoring. Top 2 pool winners will then play a single elimination playoff until there is a winner for each age group. Winners will receive junior-appropriate awards. Tournament T-shirts will be on sale for all who wish to purchase one, as well as volleyballs and ECV wear.
Regarding ECV’s juniors tournaments, please make sure your child is accompanied by a responsible adult. Also, each player should bring plenty of sun screen, water, dry clothing, a beach chair, a hat, a towel, and some snacks for the day. Many players bring pop-up canopies and coolers of ice as well. In general, the juniors are finished with pool play around 2pm and the finals around 4pm.

Talented Juniors are also welcome to play in the adult divisions instead of the juniors divisions if they wish. The adult divisions tend to be more competitive, but are a great way for juniors to learn the finer points of the game from veteran players. Please note that adult divisions are typically on Sat/Sun, and the team cost is a little higher for adult divisions.
ECV outdoor events are a lot of fun. We boast a reasonably safe environment and friendly players and staff. We are a big family at ECV, and we look forward to welcoming you and your children. However, as in any outdoor event, please remind your kids to be safe, and avoid any illegal behavior, unnecessary risks, etc.
Regarding Covid-19 concerns, we are dedicated to reasonable protocols to help protect our players. We ask that players and parents be mindful of any unnecessary contact with surfaces and others. Common sense practices will be your guide as well. We will do our best to keep surfaces clean and reduce physical interacted when reasonably possible. We also ask that anyone not feeling well, or exhibiting any flu-like symptoms to please stay home and get well. We also ask that you avoid bringing elderly or immunocompromised individuals to the park as an extra precaution.
I hope this has answered a few of your basic questions regarding outdoor volleyball. My Juniors Coordinators are Rod Andres & Jean Moran. They look forward to meeting you, and will typically be on site to answer additional questions as well. Or, feel free to email me at Chris.email@example.com with any other questions, comments, or concerns.
